Work History (Teaching):

Independent Gifted/Science Consultant 

2006 - present Based out of Houston, Texas, but travel nation-wide

Horizons Gifted/Talented Helping Teacher (Teacher of Teachers) 

2004 - 2006 Cypress Fairbanks ISD Houston, Texas

     Develop in-services for district personnel on meeting the needs of G/T students, make classroom visits to G/T classes to evaluate the implementation of successful strategies, meet with teachers to make suggestions on working with Gifted Students.  Organize functions related to showing G/T produced products.

Staff Development Liaison

2002 - 2004 Thornton Middle School, Katy, Texas  

     Attended multiple in-services on how to present effective in-services.  Assisted in decision making at the building level for which in-services should be presented for the staff.

Lead Mentor 

2002 - 2004 Thornton Middle School, Katy, Texas .

     Developed a system for matching up mentors with new teachers and monitored system for effectiveness. Worked with mentors as they worked with new teachers to assure their success.  Offered in-services for new teachers on "survival" techniques.

Science Department Chair and R.O.P.E.S. Facilitator 

1999 - 2004  Thornton Middle School, Katy, Texas  

     Handling the paper work and making sure all science objectives are covered at our middle school.  Overseeing the department through teacher observations, lesson plan monitoring and ordering.  R.O.P.E.S. is a reality oriented physical experiences program which involves cooperation and team building, whether one on one or in a large group.

WebMastering Teacher

     I taught students how to use the program Front Page to create and maintain the school web page as well as their own.

  I worked with the ESL teacher and the beginning level ESL students to introduce them to Science.
